Jhumri Telaiya Blues
Most of the people think that Jhumri Telaiya is simply fake, a funny name just made by a bunch of creative people for lame humour. If you too think so then let me tell you that it is not. Jhumri Telaiya exists for real. It is the place where I have spent 20 years of my life and will continue to do so.It is the place where my father started his job in SBI and later settled with my mom. It is my hometown. For the first time I heard its name in a movie I felt that I live in such a famous place. But people don’t believe this even once I was scolded in my school for cracking jokes. One of my orkut friend Karamjeet had to search Google to know that if it existed for real and many of them get angry. A girl simply reject my friend request saying that I was fake profile now what can I do and tell them? simply provide Wikipedia links or so. Even nowadays no one believes Wikipedia and it cannot be seen in Google earth. When I was in DAV a sir joined here from Orissa I told that when he was said that he has to join Jhumri Telaiya he thought that they are joking with him and later he was scared to imagine what kind of place it would be later this sir ran away with a 12th class student and got married
. Jhumri Telaiya used to be a sort of political centre of Bihar as that one of the CM of Bihar Sri K.B Sahay was from here only and his grandson is a very good friend of mine and now it is of more importance in the politics of Jharkhand. In 20 years this place changed a lot. The grounds where we used to play cricket and football is now filled with houses. The place which never knew the meaning of Traffic jams has the Jams and the longest ones. Now accidents are increasing and now cases of Rapes and suicides also come in news. When I was in DAV that students used to be so simple and cool the thing was not that we didn’t used to talk with girls but there was decency and now it has reached to the extent of vulgarity. The skirts became so much short that the school Administration had to change the dress for girls to Salvar Suit :o. Of course the girls are damn hot here but most of them are so mean minded. It is not their fault small places resists in making a person broad minded. But it is not only about girls everyone there is the same lucky me that I my parents were not one of them
Jhumri Telaiya is the biggest centre for mica production or better say used to be. Once the whole place roads and everything used to be covered with mica dust so much that everyone had a shining effect on his face. Many parents of my rich friends are still in this business even today. And this is the business that made Jhumri Telaiya became famous. The story is the people then had nothing to do other than cutting mica and listening Vividh Bharti and they used to send their song requests on radio programs because of which Jhumri Telaiya became famous. Now mica is not so much found everywhere and only few of the mines are working now, One of them is Bandar Chua Mine. The natural view here is very nice. We have a Dam which is never heard in any of the geography books but it is a very good picnic spot. Then there are underground caves and a hill shines at daytime around 10 to 2 or so and a Waterfall about which I used to think that the liril soap ad was shot at this place only :P. After 10th class I went to Ranchi so I didn’t got much time to interact here. Still my school teachers give my example to mischievous students. I was so much famous that the bomb which I blasted in the chamber of the principle of my school in Ranchi became news here.
I did many things here and did all those things a person does in his life. The first porn I watched was at this place. Internet charges in 2002 used to be 50 rs an hour and I used this service twice a week. The first e mail ID I made and still I am using the same. I fell in love with the most beautiful girl of this world which started a group fighting between my group and his brother’s group which was later solved by a cricket series now he too is the best friend of mine. And then a series of girls with whom I kept falling in love on regular basis. I enjoyed my short fame after few of my singing competitions wins. I betrayed the girl who believed me like her brother, I still feel sorry for her and really miss her:( when she will meet me I will say sorry. I want too much to share but I don’t want to make it longer and more boring.
So next time you hear name of this place don’t laugh and try finding the song called chalo Jhumri Telaiya by Sudesh Bhosle its real funny
