27th Sept: Remembering a unsung Hero

Sept 27 dont know if many would remember the date so FYI it was the birthday of Sardar Bhagat Singh. It was his 102nd birthday . What an irony it is that we all get a national Holiday on 2nd oct no offence meant and noone remembers the birthdate of the biggest pioneer revolutionary of this country. This is not just because of us I think it is the ignorance 0f media and the resources which make such an issue about some of the things which are in there intrest while ignore others not at all justified. But still this is not something new it happens always. the system in this country is too much biased. Not just in this case but it can be seen in birthdays of other national heroes too. No one remembers the birthdate of any of the national heroes other than few due to obvious reasons. Take cricket for another example it dont matters team wins or looses every news channels provides lengthy segments on the topic while on other sports just a headline is provided and then case closed. Someone who gave his life for this country dont deserves such an ignorance.
I dont want to spoil this thread so i will end it here

शहीदों की चिता पर लगेंगे हर बरस मेले
वतन पे मरने वालों का यही बाकी निशान होगा
So said Ram Prasad Bismil the great poet and freedom fighter. All the great men and women who gave up there lives for the sake of Independence just had one wish, that the future generations would remember them. But have we been able to keep up the promise? The answer is no. Today is 102'nd birthday of The Great Bhagat Singh, a revolutionary who, at the young age of 23, chose death so that he can ignite the fire of revolution among the youth of India. But it seems no one remembers him. After 3 days, on 2'nd October there will be lot's of remembrance services and speeches and sermons to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi as if he was the only one responsible for our independence. Millions of people, many of them unknown died with a vision of free India in there eyes. Even prominent names like Chandrashekhar Azad, Shubhash Chandra Bose seem to be removed from our history only because they didn't shared there views with some of them

The missing I-pod

I normal day with his/her normal lifestyle and following a normal routine. I got a phone call from my home that too a very normal thing as my parents call me every now and then. But the phone call was not as like the normal ones used to be. My mom told that my cousin brother is no more. His death became a front page news as another of the MiG 21 crashed near Punjab. He was Flt. Lt. Manu Akhouri last of the guys in Army from my Generation.I remembered him because my parents used to make me remember him.I was given the continuous and numerous examples of all my siblings whoever made some remarkable achievement.I used to be so much jealous of these kind of guys. I met him for the first time at a marriage and then again in a marriage. The last time I met him was when he came to Ranchi at his Grandmother's place. He had shown me some pics of the place where he took training and his GF.I loved his I-Pod so much that while leaving I stole it. My mom used to tell that he is a brilliant student and even a batch topper. His father is in Army and he followed his father's footsteps. He joined IAF how and when I dunno. Although I was not in contact with him for past few years and now I heard about him that he is no more.
I dont know how to react, Shall i feel proud that he belonged to my family or I feel normal as MiG crashes are just normal news nowdays. His batchmatesd said that he had time to jump out of parachute and letting the plane crash over the village but he chose otherwise. People cry and shout and later they forget and then a new one is there. It seems that Indians (we) have got used to it and change is no more possible
